During a routine prenatal appointment in Greensboro, Jocelyn and Linwood Jones were already thinking of the next items on their to-do list: a stop at Party City for baby shower supplies and a celebration with friends and family that weekend. They never dreamed they wouldn’t be going home that day and certainly hadn’t packed suitcases.
Their doctor discovered Twin-to-Twin transfusion where the blood supply for one twin was greatly compromised. The couple then heard: “Mr. and Mrs. Jones, you are going to have your baby girls within the next hour!” Twins Jayla and Jaylea were immediately transferred to Brenner Children’s Hospital.
Far from home but near their twin daughters, the Joneses found all they needed at our Ronald McDonald House: a comfortable bed, a hot meal, and toiletries and other essentials they never had a chance to pack. Living at our House meant they could be by their girls’ sides every step of the way! Jocelyn and Linwood may have missed their baby shower, but they recently celebrated an even bigger milestone: the twins’ first birthday! Both girls are thriving – Jayla has taken her first steps and Jaylea’s feeding tube has been removed.
