Leaving a Legacy - Making a Planned Gift

Alan’s Legacy CircleAlan's Legacy Circle Logo

Named for Alan Latham, the little boy whose brief life inspired the beginning of Ronald McDonald House of the Piedmont Triad® (RMHCPT), Alan’s Legacy Circle was established to provide a way for our supporters to continue to give to the House that Love Built®. even after they are gone. This is a board-designated endowment fund that ensures lasting resources to meet the needs of the families we serve.

As a member of Alan’s Legacy Circle, you join others who believe in the work and promise that our Ronald McDonald House will always be here to welcome and care for children and families.

Whether you would like to put your donation to work today or after your lifetime, we can help you find a charitable plan to meet your goals. With your help, we can continue to provide a “home away from home” for years to come.

Begin Planning Your Gift

Alan’s Legacy Circle honors our friends who are including a gift to RMHCPT in their estate plan. We would be honored to include you in Alan’s Legacy Circle.

Lawson Bequest Flows From The Heart

Tom and Megan Lawson know that philanthropy is very personal.  They are Ronald McDonald House guest family alumni and Tom has served on our Board of Directors.  The couple’s support of our programs over the span of 30+ years along with Tom’s lifelong career in the philanthropic arena have truly shaped their views on giving and planning for the future.

Tom worked in development at Appalachian State University, then in donor services for the Winston-Salem Foundation, and currently serves as Director of Philanthropic Management for Bank of America.  He’s raised the money, worked with donors, and helped his clients contribute their resources to worthy organizations – essentially, a 360view.  Megan has volunteered in various capacities over the years through the Friends of the Ronald McDonald House and she Co-Chaired the Luminary Project.  Giving is part of the Lawson Family DNA.

Surprisingly, while statistics show that 70% of Americans do something charitable every year, less than 10% bequest funds in their wills.  The Lawsons have determined that through their estate plans they want to make planned gifts to impact organizations and programs that mean the most to them.  Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Piedmont Triad (RMHCPT) is one of those organizations, and Ronald McDonald House® of Winston-Salem is one of those programs.  Their bequest, supporting our organization and our programs means Tom and Megan are part of Alan’s Legacy Circle (ALC).  ALC members are generous donors who have included RMHCPT in their estate plans through wills, trusts, retirement plans, life insurance, or other assets.

Please join Tom and Megan to ensure that RMHCPT can continue to serve families through its House, Family Room, and Hospitality Cart programs.
