It was such a treat to visit our friends, the Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, last weekend! More than 70 Leaders inspired their scouts to collect needed items for our House, Family Rooms and Hospitality Carts, and they presented them to us as part of their Leaderee event. We're so thankful for the hospitality they showed us and the care and love they showed for the families we serve.

The story of our Ronald McDonald House began more than 39 years ago with a brave family; in the midst of their grief for their son Alan, they dreamt of a way to help other families. Alan's journey with cancer and his family's passion has created a legacy that continues to grow. This September, we honor all families facing childhood cancer, and the medical teams, researchers, and caring individuals who are working for #BetterSurvival.
We've been serving families and children in our Family Room at Cone Health for 2 years! Drop in this Thursday to celebrate with us. #birthday #rmhcpt #rmhcptfamily

At RMHCPT, every Wednesday night is Pet Therapy night, and we're so lucky to have four awesome certified therapy pups who take turns visiting the House along with their moms! Sammy is a super-friendly golden retriever who loves rolling around and "splooting" in the grass. (He says it's safe to look up that word!)🐾 Here are some more fun facts about Sammy:
We've been hitting the road to visit some #RoundUp all-stars: McDonald's locations in our area who are leaders of the pack so far for collecting donations by asking you to round up your order! It's been a blast to say thank you in person and deliver T-shirts for team members like Stephanie at the Thomasville restaurant. Be sure to round up on your next visit to your favorite McDonald's!

We're lucky to have great volunteer groups visit RMHCPT, and together they help us provide lunches, dinners, and sweet treats for our families. Recently we welcomed a group of teachers from Lowrance Middle School, the Bethesda Region Managers from McDonalds, and 2 groups from the TBD Referral Group of local small business owners. You can get involved too by contacting Caleb, our Volunteer Manager.
