A “Home Away From Home”
Ronald McDonald House Charities® Piedmont Triad provides a “home away from home” for families with children receiving treatment in our community’s medical facilities. Located steps away from Brenner Children’s Hospital, right down the road from Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, and close to other medical facilities, the House allows quick accessibility to a child’s bedside.
Services Provided
- 36 bedrooms with private baths
- Communal kitchen with pantry items, fresh foods, and meals provided through community donations
- Living and play areas including an outdoor playground
- Linens, towels, and toiletries
- Family Support Services program including education, recreation, and referral services
- Resource Library, Computer, and Wi-Fi access
- Complimentary laundry rooms
- Secure facility with staff available onsite 24/7
- Knowledgeable, caring staff and volunteers whose main priority is our families
Eligibility
Guest families must live outside of Forsyth county and have a child 18 years old or younger who is receiving medical treatment in our community in order to be eligible to stay.
Exceptions to the eligibility standards apply, contact (336) 723-0228 to determine if you qualify.
Check-In
During check-in, a member of our Guest Services staff guides families through all paperwork, shows them the house, and answers any questions. Please ensure that each adult staying in the House has a photo ID on hand when checking in.
Check-in times are seven days a week:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
After-hours check-ins are available with advanced approval.
Parking
Parking is free, but limited. In order to ensure families have parking we ask that if you are visiting with a large group to carpool.

It's time to prepare to light our beautiful city on Christmas Eve and show support for RMHCPT! Each light that shines honors a Ronald McDonald House family, and each kit purchased provides a night in our House for a family. The Luminary project has been a sustaining fundraiser for RMHCPT since 1987!
Seatbelts save lives! On National Seatbelt Day, RMHCPT reminds you to buckle up, and reduce the risk of serious injuries for you and your kids.
The holidays can be difficult for our families as medical bills and other expenses pile up while their child is hospitalized. Help us stock Santa's Workshop, a free "shopping" experience for families staying with us during the holiday season. We welcome items for children of all ages, birth to teen. Please plan to deliver all 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 by December 2nd to give Santa plenty of time for delivery! We have a wishlist of desired items at rmhcpt.org/make-a-difference/holidays
Throughout 2024, we've been sharing celebrations and memories of our 40 years of service to the Piedmont Triad community. We'd like to share with you the amazing story of how the determination and spirit of our founding family - while in the midst of grieving their young son - inspired the generosity of our community and made the dream of the Rainbow House a reality. The impact and the legacy little Alan, his parents, his doctors, and their supporters have had since 1984 is immeasurable! 🏠🌈

Little Tatum has been patiently waiting for 70 days to go home with his baby sister! We'll miss miss him popping into our offices to say hello every day, but we sure are happy for this sweet family! 🏠
November is Prematurity Awareness Month! Premature babies and their families share a special set of challenges. We are proud to provide a place where these families can stay close to their little ones as they grow stronger.

We're grateful to the members at Homestead Hills for supporting our House! Recently they raised enough to provide 4 nights of dinner for our families, and also stocked our pantry with tons of needed items! 🏠
We're loving the energy that student volunteers from across the Triad have been bringing to our House! Several groups have visited, taken a tour, and then baked and packed lunches for our families. These items can be taken to our hospital Family Rooms so parents have a free and nutritious option for lunch and snacks while staying close to their children receiving treatment.

We're fortunate that our House is right in the middle of THE #Halloween neighborhood in the city! Awesome volunteers from @wssu1892 helped our Hospitality Team greet trick-or-treaters and introduce RMHCPT to families from all over Winston-Salem.
It was a beautiful and truly ✨magical morning on Saturday! Our favorite characters from the storybooks, movies and sports teams paid a visit to excited children who couldn't wait to meet them! It's so very important for families to have the opportunity to have fun together and for kids to just focus on being a kid. It was a beautiful day today so we decided to have a little Fall fun at the rooftop playground at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital. Thank you to all the hospital staff who supported this fun day and brought these kids and parents out to play!
