Toby's Story

Toby Davis is a RMHCPT veteran. These days, you can catch him decked out in glasses and rain boots with his stuffed kitty tucked safely in his arms.

You would never know that he was born under scary circumstances with a cleft palate and small jaw. His family stayed at our House for an entire month while the medical staff at Brenner Children’s Hospital gave Toby the ability to eat and breathe on his own. The Davises appreciated being near the NICU and Dad even set up his “work desk” in our dining room!

When the Davises were expecting a second son, their joy and excitement were tempered with uncertainty and fear that he would be born with the same challenges as Toby. Knowing the medical care he could need was hours away from home, the Davises checked into our House to await their son’s arrival. Gavin was also born with a cleft palate and small jaw and a specialist team was on hand to treat him right away.

Toby’s daily attire now includes a “Super Bro” shirt for his new role as big brother. He will be by Gavin’s side for upcoming treatments and to show him the ropes at our Ronald McDonald House.

Thanks to your generosity and care, families like the Davises find the comforts of home near the care their children need. Your support keeps families close when it matters the most. Thank you!
